I am looking for reviews on the Musky Hunter mobile app. Pros/cons, ease of use, etc. Any input will be appreciated.

Fair enough. I dont blame them for trying, I just will never support them. From making Double 10's, the materials cost almost as much as what you pay at the store....unless you are buying in some serious bulk.

I agree Muskies Inc. is a great organization and have been a member for years, but it is a membership organization whose charter is dedicated to improving musky fishing.

Musky Hunter on the other hand is a private business that is in the business of selling magazines, videos, musky related products, and now their app for profit. It is true you can probably find most of the info that the app gives you readily on the internet in some cases for free and others you would still need to pay. There are sites that want you to pay for a solunar forecast also. At least it is packaged in one place and you get to carry it around in your pocket. You can't fault them for making a buck on it. I'll still keep my subscription going for Musky Hunter Magazine and I will still watch the show. If you learn one thing that puts a few extra muskies in the bag isn't it worth it? Heck we pay upwards of $30 for a lure these days, I think that is outrageous for a hunk of wood or plastic. Double Cowgirls are super expensive when you figure out that the components only cost about $5.

I wish I could be in the business and get to fish and write about it for a living, but I'm stuck doing a 9-5 so that I can afford to fish for muskies!

Yes it is. But that isnt the point. Musky Hunter does nothing for the sport but recycling old info wrap it up in a new shiny ribbon and bow and market it. Then people pay for it. Thats a pretty weak business model in theory but all the boneheads buy into it and make them rich. Like I said they do nothing original and have no intentions of helping Musky fishing as a sport. They only want to line their pockets with $. Musky Inc. Now there is something putting your money towards!

Gee, I thought the whole idea of a business is to make money. Lips Sealed

I don't have the app, but I hear most people are happy with it.

I wouldnt spend a single dollar that helps Musky Hunter. They do nothing to give back to the sport and simply steal your money by providing information that is already available at no cost. Puke

What is your musky fishing level? I am fairly new to the hunt, but looking to shorten the learning curve.

I forgot that I have it.

I know that I wasn't impressed after I bought it.

I have it and found it to be easy to use. I too went with the pro edition. Hope it pays off this season.

I went through a 15 minute tutorial of the app in the Musky Hunter booth at the Milwaukee Musky Expo. I walked away thinking the Pro version is a MUST have. For 10 bucks I thought it was worth every cent.

There has been some grumblings that a few kinks need to be worked out, but you'll have that with a brand new app. By May for the opener my guess is it will be functioning well.

The 'Lite' version is plain jane - you'll want the 'Pro' version.

The activity/feeding window and trolling feature were really slick (and are only available in the Pro version)
